Entertainment is embedded in the entire life of man in some form or the other. Among other forms of entertainment, the main form is fairs which are the main means of entertainment for the people of Haryana. People gathered in fairs have complete fun. There is interaction and fun. People who have been separated for a long time are reunited through fairs. These fairs have come into existence from the feeling of unity and the feeling of expressing the joy of the mind. That is to say, the form of the fair has
become popular from the feeling of celebration. Local fairs of Haryana are mostly fairs of religious nature because from the beginning, man believes in worshiping deities due to the fear of divine powers. These fairs, although religious, are also secular in nature. In this research paper, local fairs from Ambala, Kurukshetra, Pehowa, Kaithal, Tohana in Haryana have been collected and their historical background has been described. Information about the fairs of Haryana collected during the field research work was collected and a historical perspective of these fairs was presented. At fairs, people forget all their sorrows and dance in happiness. The look of the people who go to the fair is different. They feel like they are going to the wedding procession as grooms. At that time, the adornment and dress of the people are the only things to see. Fairs and festivals have been going
on in a traditional form. Although the ways of celebrating them have changed.
