Abstract

Kesra Ram is an important story writer in the current Punjabi story of Haryana. He has been continuously contributing story collections to Punjabi story literature for a long time. So far, seven story collections have been published in which the socio-economic and political situation of Haryana, as well as various concerns from around the world, have been presented. The basis of his acceptance in the Punjabi story world is his story subject, narrative pattern and visual presentation. In the story collection
‘Zanani Paud’, the immorality of the time, materialistic trends, crisis of relationships and many other cultural-social crises have been presented through the special craft of narrative. He presents the condition of women well through his stories. What kind of pitiful conditions are there in the present-day society of women, how do they suffer due to their suppressed desires and the oppression of men? Kesara Ram expresses his point through satire in the story collection ‘Zanani Paud’. Reading his work creates a kind of unease in the heart of the reader. His style is so artistic that once we start reading his stories, we cannot leave it in the middle.
