Consciousness is an important aspect of human existence. Being conscious of a person's living in society and dealing with contemporary social challenges has been a part of human development since time immemorial. When this consciousness is read from the Indian perspective, it is understood that spirituality is considered the axis of Indian thought and consciousness. Different spiritual streams have been contributing to Indian philosophy according to their own merits. The entire literature created in the field of devotional poetry addresses humanity. In devotional literature, one strand of Bhagat Ravidas's Bani is connected to the surface of spiritual concepts and the other strand is seen to be related to social concerns. Making contemporary problems an impact in his Bani is clear proof of being a humanist. His poetry and personality seem to be intertwined with spiritual and social issues. Although Bhagat Ravidas Ji's poetry is available from other sources as well, for this paper, his poetry recorded in the Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji is to be considered and the possibilities of the 'Begampura' model suggested by him are to be explored. In this context, the main objective of this research paper is to know the current relevance
of his poetry.
